Rivington Energy has signed a contract with Invinity Energy Systems Plc to manage the construction of the largest, long duration, vanadium flow battery in Europe.
Invinity recently hosted the groundbreaking ceremony at the LoDES project site in Uckfield, East Sussex. In attendance were Invinity CEO Jonathan Marren, Aniron Renewables who have been appointed as EPC, and Rivington Energy team members.
The majority of the civil works associated with the project are expected to be completed in the next eight weeks, supporting the delivery of 20.7MWh of Invinity Vanadium Flow Batteries (VFBs) and a 3MWp solar array.
Michael Hughes, Rivington Energy CEO commented: “Our award-winning team are looking forward to working closely with Invinity to deliver what will be the largest, long duration, vanadium flow battery in Europe. We have extensive experience in managing the construction and management of renewable energy assets, currently looking after a portfolio 2,855 renewable energy schemes. It will be a pleasure to deploy that construction and project management expertise on such a ground-breaking project, which incorporates both solar and vanadium flow battery technologies.”
